Mads Nissen

Mads Nissen ( born November 17, 1979 in Hobro, Denmark ) is a Danish photographer.

Nissen completed his studies at the Danish School of Journalism in Copenhagen. From 2004 to 2006 he worked for the Danish newspaper Politiken and subsequently as a freelance photojournalist for magazines such as Newsweek, TIME, Der Spiegel, Stern and Sunday Times. He documented inter alia, the food crisis in Niger, the overpopulation in the Philippines or the Amazon rainforest. Nissen has received numerous awards, such as for his work Danish Press Photo of the Year in 2007 and 2010, a World Press Photo Award 2011 or the Manuel Rivera -Ortiz Price 2011.
