Maenan

Maenan is a village in North Wales. Maenan located directly on the Snowdonia National Park and is 23 km from the island of Anglesey away (air line). The census resulted in the sparsely populated village with a population of approximately 300

Population

The 2001 census counted the population of Maenan and Llanddoged together. The population was 574 at the time, an increase of 72 persons compared to 1991., 70% of residents were born in Wales, and almost the same percentage of the population dominates the Welsh language.

Maenan has a bus stop. The nearest railway station is located in the north-eastern village Dolgarrog.

Religion

84 % of the population of Maenan and Llanddoged is Christian. For them, there are two chapels available:

Education

There was once the primary school Ysgol Maenan, which was closed in the early 1990s. However, primary schools are located in the neighboring villages and Llanddoged Eglwysbach. A secondary school Ysgol Dyffryn Conwy in there.
