Magdalena District, Chachapoyas

Magdalena is one of the 21 districts of Peru, from which the province of Chachapoyas in the Amazonas region exists. Magdalena is located where the mountains flatten out towards the river Utcubamba. From Magdalena one has a magnificent view of Kuelap. After Magdalena get there by car from Chachapoyas (Peru ).

Geographical Location

In the north of Magdalena district borders the district of San Isidro de Mayno ( Chachapoyas ) and the District of Levanto ( Chachapoyas ), to the east by the province of Rodríguez de Mendoza, on the south by the district of La Jalca ( Chachapoyas ), in the southwest of the district of San Juan de Lopecancha ( Luya ) and west of the river Utcubamba marks the boundary to the district of Tingo ( Luya ).

Capital

District capital is the town of Magdalena.
