Margaret " Maggie " Ruth Gyllenhaal [' dʒɪlənhɑl ] ( born November 16, 1977 in New York City ) is an American actress.
Life
Maggie Gyllenhaal is the daughter of director Stephen Gyllenhaal and producer and writer Naomi Foner. Her brother is the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. The paternal family is of Swedish origin and belongs to the ancient nobility of Sweden ( ennoblement 1652). Your mother's family is of Russian Jewish origin.
Gyllenhaal graduated from the Columbia University literature and Eastern religions, in 1999 completed his studies with a Bachelor of Arts. During her school years she made her debut in 1992 in a film of her father titled Waterland, followed by A Dangerous Woman at her brother's side. First attention was the actress in 2001 with her roles in Donnie Darko Richard Kelly and the road with guys.

Maggie Gyllenhaal has been married since 2009 to actor Peter Sarsgaard, whom she met during the filming of the previously unreleased low-budget movie In God 's Hands 2003. They have two daughters together. In the course of some statements regarding the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, she came under criticism in 2005. She had the U.S. attributed partially to blame for the terrorist attacks.
