82nd Academy Awards
The Oscar Ceremony 2010 was held on 7 March 2010 at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. It was the 82nd ceremony of the Academy Award since it was first awarded in 1929. During the Academy Awards films of the previous year are always excellent, in this case, the films of the year 2009.

The ceremony was hosted by actors Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin.
Key data
The decisions on the nominees submitted by the members of the Academy between 28 December 2009 and 23 January 2010. The announcement of the nominations in each category took place on February 2, 2010; a month later, on 7 March 2010 and the ceremony took place. The reason, not as before to perform the ceremony in March and February, were ongoing during the relevant period 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Innovations
As was given on June 24, 2009 by Sid Ganis, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, known, was the number of films that were nominated for Best Picture in the category increased from five to ten. Award winners and nominees
The Oscar nominations were announced on February 2, 2010 announced by the actress Anne Hathaway. The field of nominees was jointly developed by James Cameron's Avatar - led The Hurt Locker ( each with 9 nominations ), followed by Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds ( 8), Lee Daniels ' social drama Precious - - Film Title, and Kathryn Bigelow's war drama The Hurt Locker Life is precious and Jason Reitman's dramedy Up in the Air ( 6 nominations each ). The prize for the best film won Hurt Locker - The Hurt Locker. Director Kathryn Bigelow became the first filmmaker awarded the Director's Award.
The European co-production The White Ribbon - A German children's story by Michael Haneke was nominated as the German contribution in the category Best Foreign Language Film as well as for the best camera operator ( Christian Berger), but came away empty. Excellent actor Christoph Waltz was ( Inglourious Basterds ), nominated composer Hans Zimmer (Sherlock Holmes).
