Stephen E. Rivkin

Stephen E. Rivkin ( born 1953 or 1954) is an American editor.

Life

Rivkin grew up in St. Louis Park, Minnesota in the 1960s. While both his older brother David ( guitar ) and his younger brother Bobby (drums ) dealt much with music, were widely distributed its interests. As he left the common bond that his brothers made with the music on. So Bobby played with in the band of Prince and David later became a well-known music producer. After all, the Brookside School visited Stephen devoted his passion and went to the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. After his graduation, he worked for a while as an editor for industrial films before it later with his first feature film The Personals section.

Rivkin has worked throughout his career with several sizes, including Mel Brooks, Michael Mann, Gore Verbinski, Jerry Bruckheimer and James Cameron. Since the late 90s, he has been awarded with the exception of The Statement, exclusively for the cut in blockbusters. Among these were all three "Pirates of the Caribbean " parts, as well as action films such as Swordfish and Stealth - Under the Radar, and most recently the best-selling movie of all time, Avatar - Pandora. Because of the new 3D technology led to additional new work processes and difficulties. These Rivkin said that " from beginning to end Avatar the biggest creative challenge was for him that he had to ever make. But it opened my eyes to the limitless possibilities of film- making " ). The performance brought him a variety of awards, including nominations for an Oscar and British Academy Film Award.

Outside work he is involved as a member of the American Cinema Editors 2011 for an action that prompted different film festivals to where these film awards awarded for film technology to advertise a prize for film editing. He also takes part in different workshops. He was the keynote speaker of the Digital Media Training Workshops of the IBC in 2010.
