64th Academy Awards

The Academy Awards 1992 took place on 30 March 1992 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles. It was the 64th Annual Academy Awards. In the year of award films of the past year are always excellent, in this case, the films of the year 1991.

Summary

Jonathan Demme's psychological thriller The Silence of the Lambs was in the five main categories awarded (film, director, screenplay, lead actress, lead actor ) and thus according to It Happened One Night and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, the third film, which this was achieved. Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster were honored for their portrayals of Hannibal Lecter and Clarice Starling, each with an Oscar Award ( Best Actor and Best Actress ). Oliver Stone's political thriller J.F.K. was awarded Oscars for Best Editing, Pietro Scalia and Joe Hutshing and Best Cinematography Robert Richardson.

Ridley Scott's Thelma & Louise just won a trophy for best original screenplay. Even the drama Bugsy was as good as empty-handed because of the triumph march of Hannibal Lecter ( Oscars for set design and costume).

The successful continuation of Terminator, Terminator 2 - Judgment Day, won a total of four Oscars, specifically for the make -up, the sound editor, sound and visual effects. The Walt Disney animated film Beauty and the Beast, which was nominated for Best Film in the category, won the two musical trophies ( film music and movie song ).
