26th Academy Awards

The Academy Awards 1954 took place on 25 March 1954 at the RKO Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles and in the NBC Century Theatre in New York City. It was the 26th Annual Academy Awards. In the year of award films of the past year are always excellent, in this case, the films of the year 1953.

A Roman Holiday ( Roman Holiday ) - Dalton Trumbo, the Oscar went to Ian McLellan Hunter originally. In December 1992, the Academy decided to Ian McLellan Hunter to be deleted from the credits and to award the prize posthumously to Dalton Trumbo.

Originally, in the category Louis L ` Amour also calls for Man nominated Hondo ( Hondo ), but the screenplay based on the short story L' Amours The Gift of Cochise and was therefore not allowed in this category. After L ` Amour had the Academy informed the film was disqualified.
