Michael Wilding (actor)
Michael Wilding ( born July 23, 1912 in Westcliff- on-Sea, Essex, England; † July 8th, 1979 in London, England ) was a British actor.
Life
Before he went to Hollywood in 1952, where his career came to a standstill, Wilding was in the UK the leading performer of romantic lovers.
In his first marriage he was married from 1937 to 1951 with the actress Kay Young. In 1952, he married the 20 years younger Elizabeth Taylor. From this marriage had two sons: Michael Jr. ( born 1953 ) and Christopher ( b. 1955 ). In 1957, the marriage ended in divorce. From 1958 to 1963 he was married to Susan Neill and from 1964 until her death in 1976, with Margaret Leighton.
During an epileptic seizure in 1976 he fell down some stairs. He suffered a head injury, where he died in London on July 8, 1979.
