31st Academy Awards

The Academy Awards 1959 took place on 6 April 1959 RKO Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles. It was the 31st Annual Academy Awards. In the year of award films of the past year are always excellent, in this case, the films of the year 1958.


Bob Hope, Jerry Lewis, David Niven, Laurence Olivier, Mort Sahl and Tony Randall as facilitators led by the Oscar ceremony.

Winners and nominations

The musical film Gigi was also excellent in all nine categories in which it was nominated. This makes it one of the most successful films at the Oscars.
