Strings (1991 film)

Strings, French title Cordes, is a Canadian animated short film directed by Wendy Tilby from the year 1991.

Action

A woman and a man together using the elevator. While the man gets off on the second floor, then the woman up to the third floor. The apartments of the two are superimposed exactly. The woman has bought a fourth chimney for its model ship of the Titanic and sticks to it. Then she takes a bath. The man prepares dinner and receives a short time later, some musicians with their string instruments. Together, they make music.

Suddenly the man noticed water dripping through the ceiling. The pipes in the bathroom of the woman are leaking and he waves one floor up and begins to repair the pipes. Meanwhile, falls into his apartment the chandelier from the ceiling.

Production

Strings has been realized by paint on glass plus stop -action animation. It was the first film that created the Tilby for the NFB.

Awards

Strings won the 1992 Genie in the category " Best Animated Short Film ". At the Ottawa International Animation Festival Tilby Award for the best Canadian film and also received the Craft Prize for the best use of music in a film.

Strings in 1992 for an Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film " nomination, but could not prevail against manipulation itself.
