Ted Tally

Ted Tally ( born April 9, 1952 in North Carolina; native Theodore Tally ) is an American screenwriter.

Life and achievements

Tally studied at Yale College, Yale University and belongs to the Yale School of Drama. He made his debut with the script of the television drama A Home for Joey from the year 1987, in the Louis Gossett Jr. and Malcolm -Jamal Warner played.

For based on the novel by Thomas Harris screenplay of the thriller Silence of the Lambs ( 1991) by Jonathan Demme and starring Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins winning tally in 1992 Oscar. He also won the Writers Guild of America Award, a Saturn Award and the Edgar Allan Poe Award and was nominated for a Golden Globe Award and a BAFTA Award. For the written screenplay based on a novel of the film drama All the Pretty Horses (2000) by Billy Bob Thornton and starring Matt Damon and Penélope Cruz won Tally in 2000, the National Board of Review Award. He was nominated for the 2000 Las Vegas Film Critics Society Award and 2001 for the USC Scripter Award.

Tally advised the writers of the animated movies Shrek 2 - The daring hero returns (2004) and Madagascar ( 2005). He also served as one of the producers of the science fiction film Mission to Mars ( 2000).

Tally is married and has two children. He lives in Pennsylvania.
