Randy Thom

Randy Thom is an excellent two Oscars American sound designer and sound engineer.

Life

Thom began his career as a sound engineer at a radio station in Berkeley. In 1975, he introduced himself with Walter Murch, as he worked on American Graffiti. As a result, he got a job as a recording engineer in the post-production of Apocalypse Now. From 1980, he worked on films by George Lucas and in 1983 was awarded a permanent position at the Skywalker Sound. He worked with Robert Zemeckis, Francis Ford Coppola, Steven Spielberg and Tim Burton. In 1986 he took part in Mel Brooks ' Star Wars parody Spaceballs.

Thom has won two Academy Awards and received 14 more Oscar nominations. In addition, he received five times the Golden Reel Award, was nominated for an Emmy and two times for the BAFTA Award.
