Henry Selick

Henry Selick ( born November 30, 1952 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey) is an American producer, film director, screenwriter and production designer.

Life

Selick grew up in Glen Ridge (New Jersey) and studied with 20 years of painting, drawing, photography, sculpture and art print at Syracuse University. He then studied (Animation) at the California Institute of the Arts. There Selick met, for example, Brad Bird, John Lasseter, Tim Burton and John Musker.

He then worked for Disney Studios. 2010 his animated film Coraline was nominated for an Oscar. In April 2012, Disney announced that the Selick Neil Gaiman novel The Graveyard Book staged.
