Majgull Axelsson

Majgull Axelsson ( born February 14, 1947 in Landskrona as Majgull Andersson ) is a Swedish writer and journalist.

Life

Axelsson grew up in Nässjö. After training as a journalist, she worked in this profession mainly on areas of trade policy and labor market. During this time she was closely associated with the parent organization of the Swedish Trade Unions ( LO). She was also secretary for public relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and editor of the newspaper Beklädnadsfolket. Her first works were non-fiction and negotiated both problems with child prostitution and street children in the Third World as well as poverty in Sweden. Axelsson currently resides on Lidingö in Stockholm. She is married to Jan Axelsson and has two sons.
