Maksud Sadikov

Maksud Ibnugadscharowitsch Sadikow (Russian Максуд Ибнугаджарович Садиков; born March 16, 1963 in Artschib in Rajon Tscharoda in the Dagestan ASSR, USSR, today: Russia, † June 7, 2011 in Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russian Federation) was Professor of International Relations and Islamic Economics and Sufi.

Life

Sadikow was born in the small village Artschib in the district ( rayon) Tscharodan in the southwest of the Republic of Dagestan. The inhabitants Artschibs belong to the people of Artschi and speak the Artschisprache, which is spoken by only estimated 1200 people.

Sadikow was a follower of the Sufi scholar Sheikh Said Afandi al - Tschirkawi. He was an influential scholar who fought against Islamic extremism through religious education and in the Institute in Makhachkala practiced a combination of science and religion mediation. His responsibilities included, among other things, the project of translation of the Koran into today's Russian and repeatedly coordinating pilgrimages Russian Muslims to the holy sites in wahabitisch out of Saudi Arabia.

Sadikow was shot dead in Makhachkala and then buried in his home village.
