Church in Ougy

  • The church of Notre Dame in Malay was first mentioned in 1095. In 1160 she was one of the deans of Cluny. Main parish church, it was after the merger with the neighboring towns and Seugny Ougy. The current church with three naves and transepts is a Romanesque building, which was built in two major stages. This was followed by the construction of the upper church tower. In the first section you created the choir, the transept, the apse and radiating chapels in the 11th century under Abbot Saint Hughes. Middle of the 12th century, the three ships were built. The Dean's Office is the same as the neighboring Saint- Hippolyte to the fortress, which today still bears witness to the flight gate from the 13th century. The west entrance was bricked up and broken through the window in the 15th century on the facade. In the 19th century they built the sacristy and tower stairs. In this context, the side doors were renewed. Its stone roof was spent the steeple in 1931.
