Malcolm Bilson

Malcolm Bilson ( born October 24, 1935) is an American pianist.

Biography

The American pianist Malcolm Bilson is one with Fritz Neumeyer, Rolf Junghanns, Paul Badura- Skoda, Jörg Demus and Bradford Tracey to the first generation of pianists, which dealt extensively with historically - informed performance practice. In addition to his pianistic career, he recognized already in the sixties of the last century, the importance of musicological studies and performance practice questions for the game on historical keyboard instruments - as well as the need to maintain a consistent exchange with instrument makers. Malcolm Bilson has performed internationally with leading orchestras and conductors, which maintain the historical performance practice, to: John Eliot Gardiner, Christopher Hogwood, Nicholas McGegan, Concerto Köln, English Baroque Soloists, Academy of Ancient Music and Tafelmusik Toronto.
