Malcolm McVean

Malcolm McVean ( born March 7, 1871 in Jamestown, † June 6, 1907 in Glasgow ) was a Scottish football player.

McVean began his career at Third Larnak and moved in 1892 to the English Liverpool, in which he played until 1897. He achieved fame with a goal against Middlesbrough Ironopolis on September 2, 1893 in the then Second Division, which was Liverpool's first goal in the Football League at all. To McVeans success with Liverpool include the Second Division Championship in 1894 and 1897 and the following climbs in the First Division.

After leaving Liverpool, McVean played, among others, nor for Burnley and Dundee. After his football career, he worked in a shipyard. He died in 1907 at the age of 36 years.
