Malcolm Morley

Malcolm Morley ( born June 7, 1931 in London ) is a British painter who has developed from photo realism to social criticism towards painting.

Morley felt Photorealism soon as boring as it lacks the component of the statement. So Morley began sociocritical painting. His painting reflects both signs - so Morley painted repeatedly all advertising pages from the magazine "Life" from - and the picturesque and involvement with the contents of the press image. In the 1970s, he produced images on the basis of press images that had survived the war as a theme. Morley sat down soon on the photorealism and hyperrealism, towards a collage-like field painting.

Malcolm Morley is represented in some of the most important collections of fine art after the Second World War.
