Malcolm Smith ( born July 5, 1989 in Woodland Hills, California) is an American professional American football player at the position of linebackers. He plays for the Seattle Seahawks in the National Football League ( NFL). Smith won with the Seahawks Super Bowl XLVIII, and was elected to the Super Bowl MVP.

College

Malcolm Smith attended from 2007 to 2011, the University of Southern California ( USC), where he played college football for the USC Trojans. After he served the first two years only as a backup linebacker, he made a breakthrough in his third season with a 67 - Yards Interceptions -return touchdown in the derby against the University of California, Los Angeles ( UCLA).

Professional career

In the 2011 NFL Draft, Smith was selected in the seventh round by the Seattle Seahawks as 242 players and later taken under contract. There he played from now on under his former coach from college, Pete Carroll. In the 2013 season he was a regular player in the dominant defense of the Seahawks. In the Super Bowl, he was conspicuous by one interception return touchdown over 69 yards and was subsequently elected to the Super Bowl MVP. He is only the third linebacker in the history of the Super Bowl, which was voted MVP. The last linebacker, who won this award, was Ray Lewis in Super Bowl XXXV.
