Malmeneich is the only district of Elz ( Limburg- Weilburg ) in the state of Hesse.

Geography

Malmeneich lies on the southern edge of the Westerwald. According to the Malmeneicher forest is very hilly. The lowest point lies to the east of the town in Malmeneicher forest near the lakes at 140 m above sea level. NN. The highest point is supplied with water in the south of the district at the elevated tank, the Elz and Malmeneich, at 290 m above sea level. The town itself is on average 250 m.

History

First mentioned is Malmeneich in a manuscript of the Eberbach Monastery was built in 1225 as " Madelbodeneich ". This name is associated with Mallobaudes, a Frankish king from the 4th century, in conjunction.

Politically, the place before its first mention to Niederlahngau, then to the County of Diez. For 1305, a customs house on the High Street in Malmeneich is detected. Rights and possessions had several churches and pins of the environment as well as the respective masters of Hadamar and the counts of Katzenelenbogen. 1564 the place in Diezer contract between the Electorate of Trier and Nassau Hadamar was divided. As of 1803, the community was reunited under the new Duchy of Nassau.

The Chapel

The school

During the Second World War, the Malmeneicher children went back Hundsangen. In 1966, the primary school in Malmeneich was dissolved. Today the Malmeneicher children go to Elz for primary, secondary and junior high school. They go to school mostly to Limburg or the Fürst Johann Ludwig school in Hadamar.

Malmeneicher fair

The Malmeneicher fair will be held in early May at the fairground on the High Street and is the first fair of the year in this region. 2006 was the first year in which there was no fair guy.

Cultural Association Malmeneich eV

Among the local organizations Malmeneicher the cultural association Malmeneich heard eV in addition to the volunteer fire department, founded in 1957 ( since 9 September 2006, youth fire brigade) and the women's gymnastics team. The Cultural Association was formed in 1991 and now has nearly one hundred members. Most Malmeneicher work abroad. In Malmeneich there are few jobs. The only businesses are a hotel, a restaurant, a nursery, a business for carnival articles and a motorcycle repair shop.
