Geography
The community lies in the Westerwald between Montabaur and Limburg an der Lahn directly on the border between Rhineland -Palatinate and Hesse. Sang dog is measured by the number of inhabitants, the largest municipality in the municipality Wallmerod.

At the cemetery Hundsangens a Roman medallion was found. It is now in the collection Nassau Antiquities in Wiesbaden.
