Manager Magazin (Poland)

The Polish language, monthly magazine Manager Magazin - Edycja Polska (own spelling: manager magazin EDYCJA POLSKA ) was licensed by the German Manager Magazin title. She was transferred from 2004 to 2008, and was at this time to the two major business magazines in the country.

History

The title was first published in December 2004 by a joint venture company consisting of the Hamburg Manager Magazin Verlagsgesellschaft mbH ( Mirror Group) and the Warsaw publishing company Infor SA. The publishing house was manager initially be laid under the company's infor Wydawnictwo Sp entered. After acquisition of all shares of the Company by the German partner in 2007, the publisher was renamed as Manager Media Sp.zoo.

The magazine aimed at the upper management of the Polish economy. She appeared in a print run of 50,000 copies, costing 9.80 zlotys and sold after the introductory period about 30,000 copies at retail outlets and by subscription. The title was connected to the Polish edition ZKDP control. Founding editor in chief was the Polish Economic journalist Jan Bazyl Lipsczyc. In 1996, Dorota Goliszewska took over his position. Deputy chief editors were Dorota Kornacka and Piotr Lviv. Managing Director of the publishing house was initially Philipp Busch, later Nicholas of Nathusius.

The publishing house was next to the main title still out special issues on various topics in the economic environment. Under the brand manager Eventy events were organized. Besides Gala Invitations to impart Manager Magazine Awards were offered here, above all, seminars and workshops. In October 2008, a highly regarded conference with the Nobel laureate Joseph E. Stiglitz was organized in Warsaw.

After a change in management of the Mirror Group in 2008 and a concomitant change in the international strategy, as well as against the background of massively declining advertising revenues in the beginning of the economic crisis, decided the parent company, the title to set the end of 2008 and to liquidate the publisher.

  • Top Manager - prices in four categories for outstanding management performance in listed companies. Porters were, inter alia, Dariusz Miłek (CCC), Piotr Walter ( TVN ), Jan Kolański ( Jutrzenka ), Janusz Pločica ( Zelmer ), Maciej Witucki (TP SA)
  • Galeria Chwały Polskiej Ekonomii - an award for economists. Honored were, inter alia, Henryka Bochniarz Leszek Balcerowicz and
  • Top 500 - Gwiazdy Nowej Europy - on the occasion of the international economic forum meeting in Krynica -Zdrój Ekonomiczne award granted for high-growth companies in Eastern and Central Europe
  • Dyrektor Finansowe, Award for CFOs. A cooperation with the Polish branch of the insurance company Euler Hermes
