Manali, Tamil Nadu

Manali (Tamil: மணலி Manali [ maɳəli ] ) is a district of Chennai (Madras ), the capital of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Manali is one of 15 zones ( zones ) of Chennai and comprises seven districts ( wards ).

Manali is about twelve miles from the city center in the north of Chennai. Manali is an important industrial center and has, among other things, a petroleum refinery, petrochemical and fertilizer production. While Manali is now highly urbanized by the growth of Chennai, the northern parts of the zone Manali are still influenced significantly rural.

By 2011 Manali was a separate town (municipality ) in the district of Tiruvallur with an area of ​​16.0 square kilometers and 28,597 inhabitants ( 2001 census).
