Manfred III, Marquess of Saluzzo

Manfred III. del Vasto († 1244) was Margrave of Saluzzo from 1215 to 1244. Manfred was the son of Boniface of Saluzzo and Maria di Torres of Sassari. Since his father died in 1212, he followed his grandfather in 1215 Manfred II as the third Marquis of Saluzzo. His first three years as Margrave he spent under the regency of his mother. He turned his policy from then to secure its borders against the expansionist ambitions of the Count Thomas I of Savoy.

He married Beatrice of Savoy ( † 10 May preceding 1258 ), a daughter of Count Amadeus IV, the end of 1248 or early 1249 the Hohenstaufen Manfred, who later became King of Sicily married in second marriage.

He was succeeded by his son Thomas I.
