Work

" The Guardian of Time " Guardians of Time " of the Linz artist Manfred Kielnhofer are at the top of a long development. The constant struggle with concepts of space, sculptures and installations, as well as the study of mysticism and primal religions lead the artist to these his " Guardians of Time". 2006 was the first piece of that kind, which is reminiscent of a changing, inward-looking monk. Kielnhofer posted his characters like at special sites such as ancient monasteries, before castles, skyscrapers or in disused salt mines. Kiel Hofer's "guardian " appear and disappear, we can never anticipate where they appear the next time. So we should be reminded that we are never unobserved. Each of our actions be seen and evaluated by the guards. "

2009 Kielnhofer created a series of novel nude photographs. For this purpose he made in his photo studio specifically a water bath, which allows him the models along with their reflections to photograph in the water .. A photograph appeared as front page in the New York print edition EYES IN and more photos were taken in the Kronen Zeitung published.

In 2010, he co-developed with Martina Schettina the concept for the first Austrian Light Art Biennale. The Interlux Chair, Kiel Hofer's contribution to the Light Art Biennale, was included in the design database of MAK.

2012 Establishment of the first miniature guard. The mini guards, limited quantity, 54x36x34cm consisting of plastic.

2013 The first life-sized Guardian of Time were cast in the foundry art Krismer. The T- Guardian, " prickly, thorny cross" in collaboration with the artist Christoph Luckeneder arose and was exhibited at the same show Scope Basel and purchased by the Contemporary Istanbul.
