Manganate#Manganic acid

Permanganic acid ( manganese ( VI) acid) is the formal oxo acid of the element manganese with the formula ( H2MnO4 ). The manganic acid is unstable, but their deep green salts ( manganites, MnO42 ) are well known and isolated. A well-known example is the potassium manganate ( K2MnO4 ).

Instability

Manga acid can not be obtained because it comes quickly to disproportionation to MnO4 and MnO2. However, the acidity constant for the second dissociation can be calculated by means of radiolysis:
