Manning (Alberta)

Manning is a town in the Canadian province of Alberta Northern Lights County, about 73 kilometers north of Peace River. Manning counts 1493 inhabitants ( 2006).

The village is known as the Land of the Mighty Moose. The economy of Manning is dependent mainly on agriculture, forestry and the sale of natural gas. The town was named in honor of Ernest Manning, the Premier of Alberta 1943-1968, named. Originally called the town of Aurora.
