Mannochmore distillery

History

The distillery was built in 1971 by John Haig & Co.. Between 1985 and 1989 she was decommissioned. Only since 1992 Mannochmore is available as a single malt. In 1996, the Black Loch Dhu to its product has now been set and it develops - in spite of the unusual taste - a sought collector's item. After re- closure 1995 to 1997 the distillery produced only in winter. Then it is operated by the workers of the nearby and producing only in summer Glenlossie distillery.

Production

The water belonging to the Speyside distillery dates from Bardon Burn. The malt used is obtained from the Burghead Maltings in Elgin. The distillery has a mash tun ( mash do ) (12 t), eight fermentation tanks (wash backs) ( per 54,000 l ), three wash stills ( per 14,400 liters) and three spirit stills ( per 17,000 liters ). For firing steam is used.
