Mano Negra

Mano Negra (Spanish: " Black Hand ") was a French band that was founded in 1987 by Manu Chao. Band members have included Manu Chao, his brother Antoine Chao, his cousin Santiago Casariego, Daniel Jamet Joseph Dahan, Philippe Teboul, Thomas Darnal, Pierre Gauthé, Tomas Arroyo, Jean -Marc Winand and Anouk Khelifa which also Manu Chaos was life companion and only during his solo career, he separated them. Manu Chao is known today, especially in Germany, mainly due to his very successful solo career.

Mano Negra fell on the fact that they combined a variety of musical styles (including punk rock, ska and Latin) with each other. Manu Chao calls this Patchanka (see also Mestizo music). During her career she recorded five albums. At the beginning of the 1990s she was one of the most famous French band.

The band has performed in many countries - especially Latin America she visited often. The final concert of the tour " Cargo '92 " in Buenos Aires was the last in the original cast.

The band broke up after the release of " Casa Babylon " at the other artists were involved, 1994. Manu Chao began three years later his solo career.
