Mansilla Tuñón

Mansilla Tuñón Architects is a Spanish architectural firm of architects Emilio Álvarez and Luis Moreno Mansilla Tuñón from Madrid. Their work was in 2014 with the gold medal for "merit in the fine arts " award from the Council of Ministers of the Spanish Government ( span Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes).

Mansilla Tuñón

Luis Moreno Mansilla and Emilio Álvarez Tuñón founded in 1992 Mansilla Tuñón architects.

In 1993, Luis Mansilla and Emilio Tuñón together with Luis Rojo, the platform of exchanging ideas CIRCO under whose name they publish articles on a regular basis.

Emilio Álvarez Tuñón

Emilio Tuñón (* 1958) made ​​in 1981 education in architecture at the Technical School of Architecture of Madrid ( ETSAM ). In 2000, he also received his PhD (cum laude) at the ETSAM. From 1981 to 1992 he worked on various projects in the Office of the Spanish architect Rafael Moneo. In 1992 he founded together with Luis Mansilla office Mansilla Tuñón architects.

Luis Moreno Mansilla

Luis Moreno Mansilla (1959-2012) has completed 1982 architectural education at the Technical School of Architecture of Madrid ( ETSAM ). In 1998, he also received his doctorate from the ETSAM. His dissertation was awarded the prize at the Polytechnic University of ausergewöhnliche theses.

In 1982 he received a scholarship from the Academy of fine arts of Spain for a two-year training in Rome, Italy. In 1985 he received a scholarship from the Swedish Institute at the Museum of Architecture in Stokholm for researching the travels of two Swedish architects Asplund and Lewerentz. After that he worked until 1992 in the office of the Spanish architect Rafael Moneo. In 1992 he founded together with Emilio Tuñón office Mansilla Tuñón architects.

Teaching

Emilio Tuñón and Luis Mansilla are at the Technical School of Architecture of Madrid ( ETSAM ) since 1986 senior professors of the Department of Design and architectural projects. They had several professors at different universities. Among others at Princeton University School of Architecture, Harvard University Graduate School of Design, Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, School of Architecture of the University of Navarra, University CEU San Pablo, New School of Architecture of Puerto Rico, the Städel School in Frankfurt.
