Manuel Altolaguirre

Manuel Altolaguirre ( born June 29, 1905 in Malaga, † July 26, 1959 in Burgos) was the founder of lyrical journal " anvil ".

Life

He graduated from high school " Colegio de los jesuitas San Estanislao " on in Málaga; then to study law at the "Universidad de Granada ", without a degree. During the Spanish Civil War, he took the Republican side and left about Spain in February 1939 in order to settle first in Cuba and then in Mexico. In 1959 he returned to Spain to present in Cordoba at the film festival " Festival de Cine de San Sebastián " his film " Cantar de los Cantares " based on the version of Fray Luis de León. In the same year he died in a car accident in Burgos.

In collaboration with José María Hinojosa and José María Souviron and Emilio Prados, he was co-director of the magazine " Litoral ", founder of the Spanish- English magazine " 1616 " by Pablo Neruda and editor journal " Caballo Verde para la Poesía ".
