Manuka Oval

The Manuka Oval is a stadium in the Australian capital Canberra. It is located in the Griffith area and can accommodate 15,000 spectators ( including 10,000 seats). Throughout the year, numerous games are held, mainly cricket in the summer months and Australian Football in the winter months. A special feature is that the Kangaroos Football Club from Melbourne every year three home games discharges here.

Construction began in 1929 and included, among other things, the construction of a fence and the leveling of the soil. Even before the site had been used for rugby league and Australian football games. In April, the first cricket match was held. Over the years, the site was expanded to a full stadium. 2004 was the 75th anniversary to be celebrated.
