Marc Bassingthwaighte

Marc Bassingthwaighte ( born November 10, 1983 in Windhoek ) is a Namibian mountain bike and road bicycle racer.

Marc Bassingthwaighte launched at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in the cross country race, where he finished in 14th place. In 2007 he was at the Namibian road bike championship third in the individual time trial behind the winner Jacques Celliers. In the 2009 season he won the gold medal in the cross-country competition before the two South Africans Renay Groustra and Ben Swanepoel at the African Cup mountain bike. In 2010 he won the Nedbank Cycle Classic, the biggest cycling race in Namibia.

The 1.78 meter tall Bassingthwaighte, 2012 standing in rows of Teams Team Garmin DCM, belonged to the levy of the Namibian team for the 2012 Summer Olympics. In Olympic competition in London, he finished 30th place.
