Marc Lauenstein

Marc Lauenstein (born 15 September 1980 in Cormondrèche ) is a Swiss orienteers. He has twice been runner-up on the long distance.

The Ski Orienteering World Championships in 2002 in Bulgaria Lauenstein started for Switzerland and took it to sixth place in the relay. In the individual competitions he took 15th place and 19th place in the summer he was also first used in orienteering internationally. He competed at the European Championships in Hungary and in the World Cup. The following year he began at the home World Cup in Rapperswil and has been doing with the fourth season. His breakthrough came in 2005 when he reached the second place on the long distance behind the Russians Andrei Khramov. In the relay with Matthias Merz and Daniel Hubmann he won bronze. Also in the 2006 World Cup, he finished second on the long haul, this time behind Jani Lakanen from Finland. As a long- distance specialist, he started at the next world championships over the long distance, but could not get through an eighth place out. In European Championships he reached 2010 in Primorsko even a fifth.

The Swiss championship he won in 2002 with the CO Chenau and 2011 with the ANCO Neuchâtel in the relay. In 2002, he was Swiss champion in Night Run and 2005 with Chenau champion team. With the club Vehkalahden Veikot he launched repeatedly at the Jukola and finished it four times third place.

2006 won the cup Lauenstein Marathon, a mountain marathon with over 1500 Höhehnmetern in the time of 2:58:28 h
