Marcel Cellier

Marcel Cellier ( born October 29, 1925 in Zurich, † December 13, 2013 in Vevey) was a Swiss accountant, organist, folk music experts and music producer.

Together with his wife Catherine, he traveled since 1950 repeatedly to Southeast Europe and brought the local folk music to Central Europe. He became famous for the discovery of the Romanian Gheorghe Zamfir panflute and the Bulgarian women's choir "Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares ". For this he received in 1990 the Grammy music award in the category "Best Traditional Folk Recording ( Best Traditional Folk Recording) ". In 2011, the filmmaker Stefan Schwietert from Basel turned on the life of Marcel Cellier and Catherine the documentary " Balkan melody ".
