Marcel Schuon

Marcel Schuon ( born April 28, 1985 in Freudenstadt ) is a German footballer who plays for VfL Nagold since 2012. His preferred position is central defense.

Career

Schuon began his career with TSV Haiterbach before moving in 1996 at the age of eleven years in the youth team of VfB Stuttgart. In the summer of 2003, he was appointed to the reserve team VfB for which he completed 85 Regional games and scored three goals. During his time at VfB Stuttgart, he came to 39 inserts for various junior national teams and participated in the U-17 Football Championship in 2002 and the Junior World Cup in 2005. For the season 2007/ 08 Schuon finally moved to VfL Osnabrück in the 2nd Bundesliga. On 10 August 2007 he made his debut in the match against SC Freiburg. For the 2009/10 season he joined the league for the third SV Sandhausen.

Involvement in betting scandal in 2009

In the course of the football betting scandal in 2009 a search was carried out at Schuon. Later, he admitted to have agreed to manipulations in point game against FC Augsburg in the game, however, he had not intervened decisively. After his contract was terminated without notice by the SV Sandhausen. The DFB sports court awarded in August 2010 with retroactive effect from a suspension for two years and nine months for " unsportsmanlike conduct " against Schuon. The DFB Control and the Sport Court saw it as proven that Schuon had agreed to game manipulation in four games, actually carried out manipulations could it not, however, be detected. He has been banned until 31 August 2012. Criminally, the Amtsgericht Bochum sentenced him in December 2009 to a prison term of ten months on probation.

After his suspension to Schuon joined the Württemberg division club VfL Nagold with which he ascended into the fifth division Württemberg 2013.
