Marcello Marchesi

Marcello Marchesi ( born April 4, 1912 in Rome, † July 18, 1978 in Cabras ) was an Italian screenwriter and film director.

Life

Marchesi wrote as a humorist for a number of magazines such as "Il Bertoldo " and " Marc'Aurelio ", where he also met Vittorio Metz, with whom he henceforth formed a writing duo. So many stories, many radio shows and numerous cleared to advertising and theatrical language sayings originated. For the stage Marchesi and Metz also wrote songs like " Non c'è niente il male", " Ritorna Za Bum ", " Riviera Follies " or " Sayonara Butterfly", with great success by stage stars as Riccardo Billi and Mario Riva, Ugo Tognazzi, Walter Chiari or Gino Bramieri were listed. For television, the duo was as active as for cabarets. From 1939 wrote Marchesi, almost always and as usual along with Metz, approximately seventy screenplays, both of which five staged also in-house.

Marchesi died in a swimming accident in Sardinia.
