Vittorio Metz

Vittorio Metz ( born July 18, 1904 in Rome, † March 3, 1984 ) was an Italian author, writer and humorist. He also worked as a film director.

Life

Metz wrote as a humorist for the founded with Giovanni Mosca from him "Il Bertoldo " and for " Marc'Aurelio ". For children's theater he wrote his first stage works and worked for the legendary " Corriere dei piccolo ". With Marcello Marchesi, whom he had met in his magazine work, he then formed from the 1950s, a productive duo that has achieved great success with its numerous revues - some of the items are Attenti al martellane, Ghe pensi mi ( with Tino Scotti ) I fanatici and Gli italiani sono così fatti ( with Gino Verde ), but also worked for television: 1955 appeared Ti conosco mascherina, then La piazzetta; the children's series Giovanna la nonna del Corsaro Nero was well received and ran 1961-1966 in three seasons. Metz worked for all the major stars of the stage of his time such as Ugo Tognazzi, Carlo Dapporto, Walter Chiari, Riccardo Billi and Alberto Talegalli.

Since 1939, he has also written screenplays for films; to 1969 created 116 works. He often wrote successful Fikme for Totò, Alberto Sordi and known to him from the stage Sordi and Chiari. 1951 and 1952 he was responsible, in collaboration with Marchesi some movies as a director.

His son Alessandro was mainly active as an assistant director.
