Marcelo D2

Marcelo D2 ( born November 5, 1967 in Rio de Janeiro, Marcelo Maldonado Gomes Peixoto ) is a Brazilian rapper.

Career

Marcelo began his career as a musician with the band Planet Hemp, before he began his solo career in 1997. In the same year he released his debut album Eu Tiro É Onda, which was recorded in Los Angeles and in New York by Carlos Bass and Mário Caldato Jr..

Published in 2003, Marcelo released his second album, À Procura da Batida Perfeita (English Looking for the perfect beat), which was received by the producers of the Beastie Boys Mario Caldato. The album contained the pieces torment é and Loadeando. In the latter song, his son Luca sang. In this album Hip -hop was mixed with Samba elements. In addition to the album, a song was included, which was recorded with the Black Eyed Peas. The album was released in Asia, Europe and North America with the English title Looking for the perfect beat. Marcelo started a two-year tour for his album to promote.

Marcelo D2 is also a guest musician in two songs from Sergio Mendes album Timeless. 2006 saw the album Meu Samba É Assim and 2008 was succeeded by his fourth studio album Arte Do Barulho.
