Marco Carta

Marco Carta (born 21 May 1985 in Cagliari) is an Italian singer. In 2008 he won the Italian talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi. In 2009 he also won the San Remo Festival with the song La forza mia ( My power ).

Childhood

As a child, Marco Carta was a passionate singer. On his sixth birthday he vowed, as il grande farò cantante ( "When I'm big, I 'm a singer. "). His father died when he was six years his mother when he was ten years old. After the death of his parents, he grew up with his brother at his maternal grandparents on. Marco Carta was first appointed at public and private events as a singer. He attended an Institute of Electrical and later worked as a hairdresser at the salon of his aunt.

Career

Victory at Amici

On 20 October 2007 Carta participated as a singer with the talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi. On 16 April 2008 he finally won the show with 75 % of the audience votes; for this he was awarded a cash prize over 300,000 euros and a contract with Warner Music Group Italy.

Victory in Sanremo

21 February 2009 Carta won with 57.62 % of the audience votes the 59th San Remo Festival with the song La forza mia, which was written by Paolo Carta, the producer, songwriter and Guitarist by Laura Pausini. A day earlier, he released his third album La forza mia which was awarded the platinum status with over 80,000 CDs sold.
