Marco Delonge

Marco Delonge ( born June 16, 1966 in Magdeburg ) is a former track and field athlete from the German Democratic Republic (GDR). He was 1987 and 1989 GDR Champion in the long jump.

Delonge was at the Junior European Championships in 1985 with 7.96 m second in the long jump behind his teammate Volker Mai, who had jumped 7,99 m. 1986 occupied Delonge in the GDR championships ranked second behind Ron Beer, 1987, he won with 8.18 m the championship. 1989 Delonge third at the Indoor Championships, outdoors he jumped 8.27 m, but with too strong tailwind, and won his second title.

After a few weak years Delonge occupied at the German Indoor Championships in 1994 ranked second behind Dietmar Haaf. Then it nominated the DLV for the European Indoor Championships in Paris -Bercy. There Delonge different than 14 qualifying prematurely.

Delonge started until 1990 for the SC Dynamo Berlin, from 1991 it belonged to the LAC Hallensee Berlin. His personal best of 8.27 meters, he jumped in 1987 in Leipzig; in the high jump he succeeded in 1991 2,14 m. At a height of 1.94 m his competition weight was 80 kg. Delonge was trained as a mechanical fitter and learned later Kaufmann for office communication.
