Marco Steinauer

Marco Steinauer ( born April 13, 1976 in Einsiedeln ) is a retired Swiss ski jumper.

Career

Steinauer started regularly from the 1994/95 season in the World Cup, after he had already obtained in January 1992, two inserts when discharged in Switzerland jumping. Although he had won the World Cup at this time no point, he was part of the Swiss team at the Nordic World Ski Championships 1995 in Thunder Bay. There he was able to prove a fourteenth place on the normal hill and a fifth with the team on the big hill he left, however, from after the first passage. At the beginning of the 1995/96 season he was able to achieve several results in the top ten, from the beginning of January his form but gradually he always took a stable places in midfield. However, in 1996 he was able to secure the title at the Swiss Championship. Steinauer is a qualified Plumber and practiced his profession in addition to the athletic career on a part- time basis. Since end of his career he has worked full time in Unterägeri.
