Marco Villa (footballer)

Marco Villa ( born July 18, 1978 in Dusseldorf ) is a German football player.

Club career

Marco Villa came in 1994 as a 16- year-old from the youth department of KFC Uerdingen 05 to Borussia Mönchengladbach. On the 4th Round of the 1996/97 season he came first in the Bundesliga for use. In the 1-0 defeat at Werder Bremen, he came on in the 70th minute for Jörgen Pettersson. With a game later, he stood in the match against Hamburger SV already in the starting lineup and scored in the 20th minute, the first goal for the Colts ( Full 3-0). With this goal the now 18 -year-old villa was the youngest league scorer in the history of Borussia Mönchengladbach. It should, however, remain one of his few goals in the Bundesliga. Finally came Marco Villa in Mönchengladbach never about the role of reservists out and only played two of his 24 games over the full 90 minutes.

In the summer of 1999, he then joined the Austrian first division side SV Ried, where it was first used on 30 June 1999. The 2-1 away win at SW Bregenz the German came on in the 66th minute and scored in the 84th minute winner. In half a year at Ried he met 8 times in 22 games to score, but could not also against direct competitors, such as Ronald Brunmayr prevail. This was followed by one and a half years at Panathinaikos in Greece before the Düsseldorf returned back to Germany. In 2003, Marco Villa for Italian third division side AC Arezzo, with whom he was at the end of the season and first rose into the B series. During the winter break the following season, the striker moved back to the third tier to SPAL. As last year, the club in 2005 again reached the 9th place in the table. Since 2006 Villa plays in the Amateur League Serie D.

National

During his time as a highly traded talent at Borussia Moenchengladbach Marco Villa also completed nine caps for the German U-21 national team and scored a goal here.

Others

In Gladbach and in the common time in the army he met Robert Enke know. He became one of his closest confidants. After the death of Enke in 2009 Marco Villa came increasingly to the public.
