Marcus Bleasdale

Marcus Bleasdale (* 1968 in the UK) is a photo journalist, who comes from an Irish family.

Life

Bleasdale lived for twelve years in the present Democratic Republic of the Congo, formerly Zaire, during the difficult time after Mobutu. His two books about the Congo and the plundering of the natural resources of the country earned him a number of honors. His photos, among other things, about the genocide in Darfur and neighboring Chad attracted worldwide attention. In 2010 he accompanied the Orchestre Symphonique Kimbanguiste in his work by the Congolese capital, Kinshasa.

Bleasdale lives with his wife in Oslo and is the country's founders and employees of the photo agency VII Photo Agency.
