Marcus Sieger

Marcus Winner ( born October 7, 1975 in Denkingen ) is a table tennis player and former German Wheelchair curler. From 2007 to 2011 he was a member of the curling team and participated in the World Championships and the Paralympics in Vancouver part.

Career

He attended secondary school and then did an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic. He was trained as an industrial mechanic in Gosheim 1992. He was gymnasts, football players and skydivers.

Since a heavy parachute fall 1997, he is a paraplegic ( Tetraplegiker/C6 ) and confined to a wheelchair. He has since worked as an application engineer for a milling machine manufacturer.

2006 joined Marcus winning the CC Schwenningen. In 2007, he played for the first time in the national team. He started there in position two. After the World Cup Qualifiers 2007 in Inverness, he played the position 4 Before the World Cup qualifier in Prague in 2008, he then moved to the third position and took over the office of vice -skip ( Deputy Team Leader ). After the bronze medal at the 2009 World Championships in Vancouver, he was elected with his team on the disabled athlete of the year. At the 2010 Winter Paralympics in Vancouver, he then had in the last game his first mission as Skip ( team leader ) of the National Team.

Since his retirement from the national team after the 2011 Curling World Championship he has devoted himself exclusively to his once athletic second pillar, the table tennis. 2013 he was also nominated in table tennis for the German national team and played in September 2013 his first European Championship in Lignano Italian. Here he became Vice-European Champion with his team partner Holger Nikelis right away.

Marcus The winner is the first winner of a World Cup medal and the first vice- European champion in the history of his home town Denkingen.
