Margaret McDonagh, Baroness McDonagh

Margaret Josephine McDonagh, Baroness McDonagh, of Mitcham and Morden in the London Borough of Merton of ( born June 26, 1961) is a British politician of the Labour Party, which is a life Peeress member of the House of Lords since 2004.

Life

Margaret McDonagh began after the school visit and a study in 1983 to work as a organizer in the party administration of the Labour Party and rose to deputy general secretary of the party. In 1998, she was the successor of Tom Sawyer was the first woman general secretary of the Labour Party and has held this position until it was replaced by David Triesman, 2001.

Was elevated to the peerage by a Letters Patent of 24 June 2004 Margaret McDonagh as Life Peeress with the title Baroness McDonagh, of Mitcham and Morden in the London Borough of Merton of. Shortly after, on 13 July 2004 of its introduction ( Introduction) as a member of the House of Lords. In the upper house it belongs to the Group of the Labour Party.

Currently, Baroness McDonagh is a member of the Board of Airport operating company TBI plc and a director of AM Creative Limited. In addition, she is director of the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation ( Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation).

Her older sister Siobhain McDonagh is also a politician of the Labour Party and represents the constituency of Mitcham and Morden since the general election of 1 May 1997 as a Member of the House of Commons.
