Margaret Ménégoz

Margaret Menegoz (* April 21, 1941, a native Margaret Katarina Baranyai ) is a French film producer and Verleiherin.

Life

She has produced numerous films since 1975, founded in 1962 by Barbet Schroeder with the Éric Rohmer and company Les Films du Losange.

Among them were films by German authors such as The American Friend ( Wim Wenders, co-production with Road Movies - Germany, in competition at the Festival de Cannes 1977), Chinese Roulette ( Rainer Werner Fassbinder, co-produced by Albatros - Germany, 1977), Un amour de Swann ( Volker Schlöndorff, co-production with Bioscope, 1983), leaf and shackles ( Helma Sanders, co-production with the Literary Colloquium Berlin, 1984). For the Austrian director Michael Haneke they produced such films as Le temps du Loup ( 2003 out of competition at the Festival de Cannes), Caché ( in competition at the Festival de Cannes 2005) and Love (2012 Golden Palm at Cannes).

Many of her productions have won awards: Prix spécial the jury of the Festival de Cannes in 1975 for The Marquise of O by Éric Rohmer, Golden Bear at the Berlinale for Pauline at the beach, Éric Rohmer from in 1982, Golden Lion at the festival in Venice for the Green Ray by Éric Rohmer in 1986, Golden Globe Award in 1990 for Best Film for Europe Europe by Agnieszka Holland. In 1990 she was a member of the jury of the 40th international film festivals in Berlin and in 1991 at the Cannes Film Festival.

Margaret Menegoz was from 2003 to 2009 President of Unifrance. Since 2003 she is the President of the Franco-German Film Meetings. She is a member of the German - French Film Academy, member of the Association of exportateurs de films, a member of the Conseil d' Administration de la Cinémathèque française and a member of the Haut Conseil Culturel franco- allemand. In October 2012, she was appointed to the side of Michael Haneke an Officer of the French Legion of Honour.
