Margaret Modlin

Margaret Marley Modlin ( born January 5, 1927 in Robeson County, United States, † October 28, 1998 in Madrid, Spain) was an American artist of Surrealism.

Life and work

1949 Modlin married the poet and actor Elmer Nelson Modlin ( 1925-2003 ). The marriage produced a son emerged Nelson Modlin († 2002). In 1972, she moved to Spain, where Modlin completely dedicate preparing the painting. She exhibited her works in California, New York, Italy and Spain. These included exhibitions in 1972 at the Galería de Luis and 1978 in the Circulo de Bellas Artes. After the death of her husband more than 120 paintings by Modlin were found in her home in Madrid.

Modlin in the films was also seen as an actress love, pain and the whole damn stuff (1973) and March or Die (1977). There was also a 2012 short film titled A Story for the Modlins directed by Sergio Oksman, which is about the Modlin family and was shown in 2013 at the Short Film Festival in Regensburg. Oksman had a box full of photos, letters and papers, as well as a VHS tape, obtained by a random, with whom he embodied this film.
